Assoc. Prof. Kiadtisak Saenboonruang, Head of the Special Research Unit of Radiation Technology for Advanced Materials (RTAM), together with researchers Chalisa Moonlek, Prachnawadee Hongboon, Ariya Khamnuandet, and Ms. Donruedee Toyen, a Ph.D. candidate, participated in the academic seminar entitled “X-rays!”.
The seminar was delivered by Prof. Harry J. Whitlow, Adjunct Professor at the Department of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University, and visiting professor from the Tandem Laboratory, Uppsala University, Sweden. The event was held on 15 December 2025, from 10:00–11:00 AM, at Room 121, Department of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University.
The seminar provided comprehensive insights into X-ray science, covering key topics such as the discovery of X-rays, first reported by Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen in 1895, as well as the fundamental principles and production of X-rays. Prof. Whitlow also discussed the physical mechanisms underlying X-ray generation and their significance in scientific research and technological applications.
This seminar enhanced participants’ understanding of the historical background and modern development of X-ray science, contributing valuable knowledge applicable to research in radiation science, materials characterization, and related fields.
