The 1st International Symposium on Advanced Materials and Radiation Technology (ISAMRA) was organized by the Special Research Unit of Radiation Technology for Advanced Materials (RTAM), which led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kiattisak Saenboonruang (Head of RTAM) and Assoc. Prof. Ekachai Wimolmala (Advisor of RTAM), on 10th November 2025, at Surasak 2 & 3 (11th floor), Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn, Bangkok. This event provided a collaboration with the Kasetsart University Institute for Advanced Studies (KUIAS), Hirosaki University from Japan, and Yamagata University from Japan.
The symposium aimed to provide participants with knowledge and establish a presentation in the fields of advanced materials and radiation technology, including four sessions.
1. Radiation in Biology and Environmental Geochemistry
2. Radiation, Radon, and Public Health
3. Advanced Radiation Shielding Materials
4. Eco-friendly Materials and Sensing Technologies for Environment
During the presentation, speakers from various institutions, including Kasetsart University, Hirosaki University, Yamagata University, and the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology, shared their insights and research findings on radiation technology. The experience allowed both speakers and participants to exchange knowledge and inspired participants to explore its applications in their academic pursuits.

Moreover, the event has the special opportunity to announce an academic collaboration between two leading institutions: the Special Research Unit of Radiation Technology for Advanced Materials (RTAM) at Kasetsart University, Thailand, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kiadtisak Saenboonruang, and the Research Center for Innovative Functionalization Technology of Carbon Interface at Yamagata University, Japan, led by Prof. Dr. Tatsuhiro Takahashi. The cooperation will include joint research projects, exchange of faculty and students, organization of seminars and international workshops, joint publications, and shared access to laboratory resources.
